I’ve been seeing a LOT of folks online asking, “Where do I find plus size homecoming dresses?” and “Why can’t I find any plus size homecoming dresses in-stores!?” I recently had a follower on my fashion and lifestyle TikTok ask this in the comments, so I’m sharing here!
It’s been a minute since I’ve shopped for a homecoming dress for myself (lolol), but because I spend so much time scouring the internet for plus size fashion recommendations – I instantly had a bunch of brands come to mind when asked about where to get plus size homecoming dresses!

I totally get this frustration, as shopping for plus size formal wear can be such a challenge – especially if you want to go into a store and physically try a dress on.
Unfortunate reality: Many options for plus size homecoming dresses are online – some brands are 100% online. It’s not fair and it’s not okay – but if you’re looking to buy a plus size homecoming dress, then my recommendation is to buy 2-3 dresses online and return what doesn’t work.
I know that isn’t a very budget-friendly tip, but I’m here to offer real advice and actionable tips.
Make sure to take your measurements (via tape measurer) before ordering! Match your measurements *to the size chart* as different brands have different size charts!! Ordering a size 22 from one brand might be a size 16 in another. When shopping for a plus size homecoming dress it is CRITICAL to take your measurements!

First up on our list is ASOS! I love this brand because they have a ton of styles and options, and have a both long and short dresses that are perfect for homecoming.

Many folks don’t realize that Amazon acts as a warehouse for retailers, handling logistics and delivery for brands – it’s like a marketplace of brands!
Because of this, Amazon can be a great place to find plus size homecoming dresses!

In the last few years, David’s Bridal has really UPPED their game in the plus size fashion space. The brand has a variety of plus size prom and homecoming dresses, and they’re very good at making trendy options.
David’s Bridal makes plus size homecoming dresses in up to a size US 28.
While David’s Bridal has a lot of plus size offerings for homecoming online, I haven’t seen that offering make its way into their brick and mortar stores.
