What to wear to the Masters 2024? ›

Be sure to give the appropriate impression by not wearing tight-fitting dresses or tops. Instead, go for something light, like cotton tops, that will maintain your comfort level, look stylish and feel relaxed. Shorts, slacks or golf skirts are perfect choices for women to wear to the Masters.

The official Masters Tournament dress code requires appropriate clothing and shoes are worn at all times. Jeans and golf shoes with metal spikes are not permitted. You will want to look chic and comfortable—especially considering comfort for the shoes you wear.

Simply put, Augusta National Golf Club is the only place that sells these items and the Masters is the only time one can obtain them. There's a level of exclusivity that intrigues people.

Augusta National Golf Club has long forbidden cellphones for almost anyone at its hallowed tournament, but patrons delight in making free calls the old-school way. Augusta National has barred attendees from carrying cellphones onto its verdant grounds since at least 1993.

Another appropriate option for the Masters is true golf attire. You'll see some women wearing a golf dress or skort, with a collared top tucked in. If this sounds most comfortable to you, then go for it!

What is the dress code for the Masters? Most patrons will dress in “golf casual” attire. Collared shirts and long pants are a safe bet for men and women. Jeans (denim) are not acceptable, nor are golf shoes with metal spikes.

If you decide to wear a hat, make sure you only wear it forwards. For rainy conditions where play can still go on, small umbrellas with sleeves are allowed throughout the course.

Cell phones, laptops, tablets, beepers (anyone still have one of those?) and other electronic devices capable of transmitting photos or videos are strictly prohibited on the grounds at all times, according to The Masters' website.

While the Green Jacket is certainly a coveted symbol of success, the ownership of the jacket comes with certain restrictions. The winner is allowed to keep the Green Jacket for the year following their victory, after which it must be returned to the clubhouse at Augusta National Golf Club.

Can you bring your own chair to the Masters? Yes, you can bring your own chair to the Masters, but only if it does NOT have armrests. However, we'd recommend that instead of bringing your own, you head to the Merchandise Shop and purchase a Masters branded chair for around $30.

If you want to carry certain permittable items into the tournament, you are limited to your carrying options. Carrying bags larger than 10” x 10” x 12” are prohibited. You are allowed to use a clear plastic or vinyl bag up to 12” x 6” x 12”.

Remember two years ago, when then-rookie Talor Gooch was brought pants to put on over his shorts — a no-no during the Masters. Attire, even if you're a golfer getting in a few practice putts, is a strongly enforced rule at Augusta. That extends to the caddies.
